In F. Scott Fitzgerald's Winter Dreams, Dexter Green, neither a rich nor poor boy, strives for the best in life by abandoning solid and stable things in life for better but unstable opportunities. Throughout the story he strives for the best things in life, an education at Princeton, a partnership in a laundry, and a rich girl who everybody desires. He tries to get out of his present rung in society to a higher one, where people can have anything they want at anytime they want. He wants to be the center of attention at every party and meeting, and he wants to be admired and envied by everyone.

When Dexter is a teenager he already understands what he wants and how to get it. Working at the golf course one day, Dexter is mesmerized by a girl, Judy Jones, who is not pretty at the time, but will grow up to be beautiful. Dexter is fourteen years old at the time and he can't take his eyes off Judy, a rich spoiled girl, who is arguing with her nurse. When he finally comes to his senses and talks to the nurse and Judy, Dexter quits being a caddie. Even though the job paid more than any other Dexter could possibly get during the summer, Dexter realized that his "Winter Dreams" of becoming a rich and respected man, like Judy's father, could not be achieved by serving the rich and respected. Dexter abandoned a great source of money and a stable position where everybody liked him, and his work, to find better opportunities with different rewards.

When Dexter becomes he prospers to a point when he joins the country club and finds himself among the people he wants to mimic. After he graduates, Dexter goes to and Ivy League university, passing up a college near home which his father could pay for, to get a degree in business from a place where rich people go for an education. Then he invested in a laundry and prospered to a chain of laundromats, clawing his way to a better life. He ends up in a country house where he in surrounded by rich and powerful men who have everything they want. He also meets Judy Jones, a beautiful young lady, at the country club and falls in love with her. And he thinks of her as an object that proves his dreams come true. She is a beautiful woman who is adored and wanted by every young man at the club, and when Dexter is with her he sees himself as the rich man whom he always wanted to be. He sees himself as a person whom everybody envies for having Judy, and the person every other man wants to be. Even though Judy drops him for another in a week, he still waits for another opportunity with her.

Dexter leaves his fiancee, Irene Scheerer, who loves him for a moment with Judy, whom he sees as his trophy of achievement, just like he quits a steady job as a caddie for other opportunities. His hunger for the best in life makes him sacrifice a sure thing with Irene, a shot at a normal life, and go for a one nighter with Judy who is a chance for a life as a man who is envied by others. He even sells his laundry chain to move to New York and make a better life for himself.

In this failed love story of Romeo and Juliet, everything and anything possible seems to go tragically wrong for the two cursed lovers. In the quiet setting of Verona, families, the Montague and the Capulet's continue to feud. In the middle of the feuding and destruction the daughter of Lord Capulet and the son of Lord Montague fall deeply into love and secretly marry. Tybalt, Juliet's cousin insists on fighting Romeo for coming to Capulet's party, but Mercutio steps up to the challenge. Tragically, Mercutio is unintentionally killed by Tybalt whilst Romeo was trying to stop the fight. Romeo enraged the death of his best friend slays Tybalt and Romeo is banished. Meanwhile, Lord Capulet arranges a marriage with Paris for Juliet. Juliet seeks help from Friar Lawrence to get her out of this misery. He suggests she take a potion which makes her look dead for 4 hours, then which she should be laid in the Capulet tomb. Friar Lawrence would send a letter to the banished Romeo to come and get Juliet when she awakes from her short death. The letter does not get delivered to Romeo and he assumes she is truly lifeless. Romeo, thinking he cannot bear to live this world without his dear love Juliet, poisons himself next to Juliet. Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo dead beside her, she too, kills herself for the same reason Romeo died.

The older generation can be classified into two categories, the 'parents?and friends? Lord Capulet is the father of Juliet. He is an uncaring and cold character to Juliet, his wife and also towards the nurse. Directed to the nurse he says, "Peace, you mumbling fool! Utter your gravity o'er a gossip's bowl, For here we need it not.? His coldness is also shown when Juliet is reluctant to marry Paris, Lord Capulet threatens and insults her, but ever more so with Juliet's supposed death where he does not seem to be distraught or sad. He calmly suggests that they should use the goods bought for Juliet's wedding with Paris for Juliet's funeral instead. Lady Capulet, wife of Lord Capulet, is demonstrated as a weak character. She can be said to be uncaring as she does not know the proper age of her daughter. Her loyalties lie with Lord Capulet, however, she does protect Juliet when Lord Capulet is threatening and insulting Juliet, which can be seen as distant motherly love. Not the love Juliet got from nurse, Juliet's true mother. Nurse supported Juliet in everything she could and was like a mother to Juliet. However, she betrays Juliet at the most critical time. Advising Juliet to marry Paris because Romeo and banished, this lead to Juliet seeking help from the Friar. The Friar is a neutral character and wants peace between the two feuding families. He is the only priest in Verona therefore has a good relationship with both the Montague's and the Capulet's. Lord and Lady Montague do not have a big role in the story.

The root of all problems in this story is due to the on going feud between the two families. "Two households, both alike in dignity, In fair Verona where we lay our scene, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,? The problem goes beyond the older generations in the story, but to older generations who started the feud. The older generations planted the hatred for each other into the children. If it wasn't for them there would not have been any tragic events, but also if it wasn't for them there would be no "Romeo and Juliet? Mercutio and Tybalt's death cannot be fully blamed on the older generation. Mercutio who was invited to the party at the Capulet's house took Romeo with him, who was not invited. Tybalt enraged that a Montague is at the party, challenges Romeo to a duel. He ends up killing Mercutio, his friend, and not Romeo. Ironically Romeo kills Tybalt, who was meant to kill Romeo. The older generation still has a fault in this as if they had a good relationship none of this would be a problem. The banishment of Romeo was Romeo's punishment for killing Tybalt. This was tragic in the sense that Romeo and Juliet, two lovers, had to part. If Romeo had the self control to stop himself killing Tybalt he wouldn't be banished. The letter explaining the directions for Romeo to get Juliet from the tomb was not delivered to Romeo because of Friar Lawrence's carelessness. He didn't do everything he could do to get such an important letter to Romeo. He sent an old Friar with a donkey to deliver the letter. "Who bare my letter then to Romeo??"I could not send it…" Romeo and Juliet's death was mainly due the Friar Lawrence's ideas and his carelessness. His intentions were good ?to bring peace to the two families by marrying the two children. But the direct causes were caused by Friar Lawrence. It was his idea to give Juliet the 'death?potion to make her look lifeless, and then get Romeo to get her when she awakes at the Capulet's tomb. He didn't ensure the simple task of getting the letter delivered to Romeo in time. Therefore, Romeo killing himself thinking she was dead. She woke and also ended her life, seeing Romeo dead. Lord Capulet also had a role in his daughters death as he arranged the marriage with Paris, giving Juliet no choice but to ask Friar Lawrence for assistance. Some people may also blame Friar Lawrence for marrying Romeo and Juliet but in those days it was common to get married at a young age.

The death of Tybalt and Mercutio had shared responsibility between the older generation and the younger generation, such as Mercutio, Romeo and Tybalt. Romeo and Juliet's death was solely the responsibility of the older generation, if they left Romeo and Juliet alone, they would have lived a happy life. Write your "Most of the tragic events in Romeo and Juliet are the fault of the older generation.?To what extent do you agree with this statement. research paper

It could be said that most of the tragic events in Romeo and Juliet are the fault of the older generation because all of the events are linked in a chain and it all started because if the feuding adults. The younger generation tried to mend the relationship but it wasn't to be because of the disobedience of the older generation. It took the lives of their children to mend the relationship between the Montague's and the Capulet's. "Where be these enemies, Capulet, Montague? See what a scourge is laid upon your hate, That heaven finds means to kill your joys with love.?

. The summary of the report

The aim of this report was to understand the different views and opinions on crime and punishment. To find out how punishment has changed through the ages and why different cultures see some crimes more serious than others and why some countries allow the death penalty as an acceptable punishment but others see it as inhumane murder. I used various resources to complete this report. I used or 4 different library books and browsed through a lot of different internet sites also conducted a 0 question survey.

I believe my findings on the report were quite conclusive as after i had researched the topic and heard both arguements for and against there was really only one choice and that is for the abolishment of capital punishment.

4. Introduction

Buy cheap English Speech term paper

I did a report on crime and punishment more so the death penalty as I find it very interesting that different cultures and society's have different for the same crime.

Also it has recently been in the media with the Bali bomber Amrozi on trial and has been convicted of terrorism and sentenced to death.

For the past decades capital punishment has been one of the most hotly contested political issues in Australia if not the world. This debate is a complicated one. I have realised I don't have an opinion as I don't know much about the whole process and wanted to research the issue.

5. Main Body

Should Capital Punishment be Abolished? 5.1

Capital punishment has been part of the criminal justice system since the earliest of times. But opponents have argued that the death penalty is racist, economically unjustified, and in violation of basic human rights. However, today much of the debate over capital punishment is about whether it is morally right to sentence a person who has committed a serious crime to death.

History 5.

Throughout history there has always been crime and for the most part there has been punishment. Wether it be one person trying to get revenge on another or the police and court system we have now, there has always been some kind of law and order system. I didn't find it strange that crime and punishment has changed so much through time but I do find it strange that different countries have such different laws and beliefs.

Right now we live in a very pleasant world if you look back in history at least. From caveman times through the medieval times and even as recently as 00 years life was much more harsh. The laws were stricter in the past, A person could be executed for things such as stealing or being accused of being a witch. The ancient Hebrews inflicted death on any person found guilty of denying the true God or cursing their parents. For centuries, England punished by death those found guilty of pickpocketing and petty theft. Now in a lot of countries it is impossible to get the death sentence. However 67 people were sentenced to death in 1.

.

Crimes worthy of death 5.

There are many different crimes which you can get the death sentence for. From the petty ones such as overcharging or taking bribes to the more serious like murder and terrorism. The majority of offences which have the penalty of death are against property or government. Those against the death penalty argue that the loss of ones life is inappropriate for crimes against property.

Death penalty a deterent? 5.4

Perhaps the most frequent argument for capital punishment is that of

deterrence. The prevailing thought is that imposition of the death penalty will act to dissuade other criminals from committing violent acts. Numerous studies have been created attempting to prove this belief however, all the evidence taken together makes it hard to be confident that capital punishment deters more than long prison terms do. Going ever farther, Bryan Stevenson, the executive director of the Montgomery based Equal Justice Initiative, has stated that people are increasingly realizing that the more we resort to killing as a legitimate response to our frustration and anger with violence, the more violent our society becomes.

For and Against 5.5

There are many different arguments for the death penalty and equally against it. Some countries have abolished it completely like Australia others have and still use it regularly while Japan and the U.S.A are in between using it for only the most serious criminals.

Methods of Execution 5.6

The methods in which we execute criminals has changed through time and will probably continue to change in the future. Also different countries have different execution methods although the most recognized method worldwide is the infamous hanging. There are many more types of execution with beheading, stoning to death, lethal injections, electrocution and use of poisonous gases all recognized methods.

Methods of execution worldwide are firing squad in 7 countries, hanging in 58 countries, stoning in six countries, lethal injection in five countries, beheading in three countries, electrocution in one country, and last lethal gas in one country .Now there are very few countries that hold public executions although they were very common in executions in the past.

Historic execution methods 5.6.

Throughout history, governments have been extremely inventive in finding new ways to execute people. Executions inflicted in the past are now regarded today as ghastly, barbaric, and unthinkable and are forbidden by law almost everywhere. Common historical methods of execution included stoning, crucifixion, burning, breaking on the wheel, drawing and quartering, peine forte et dure, garroting, beheading or decapitation, shooting and hanging

6. Conclusion

The use of capital punishment has been a permanent fixture in society since the earliest civilizations and continues to be used as a form of punishment in countries today. It has been used for various crimes ranging from the desertion of soldiers during wartime to the more heinous crimes of serial killers. However, the mere fact that this brutal form of punishment and revenge has been the policy of many nations in the past does not subsequently warrant its implementation in todays society. The death penalty is morally and socially unethical, I believe it should be known as cruel and unusual punishment since it is both discriminatory and arbitrary, has no proof of acting as a deterrent, and risks the atrocious and unacceptable injustice of executing innocent people. As long as capital punishment exists in our society it will continue to spark the injustice which it has failed to curb.

7. Recommendations

After doing research on crime and punishment i believe that capital punishment should be abolished in this country but also the rest of the world. The amount of people through the years that have been murdered by the goverment claiming it justice is unthinkable. Innocent people murdered for things such as being a accused of being a witch its unbelievable. Not to mention the hundereds of innocent people convicted of a crime and executed only to years after their death discover they were innocent. So of course my recommendation is to abolish the death penalty. Capital punishment is immoral and unethical. It does not matter who does the killing because when a life is taken by another it is always wrong.

Calpurnia A real lady

And

A mother without racism

Human being would influence one another during their learning process. In the novel, "To Kill A Mockingbird", the protagonists' (Scout and Jem) attitudes had been developed in many ways. With the absence of their mother, their father raised them. Calpurnia, the cook, sometimes acted like a mother to them. Even though Calpurnia was black, she still received a lot of education.Order Custom Essay on To Kill a Mockingbird: Calpurnia: a real lady and a mother without racism

First of all, Scout's mother died when Scout was two yeas old, so she never felt her mother's absence. As the cook of the Finchs family, Calpurnia always took care of Jem and Scout just like a mother did. Calpurnia had been taught how to read and write from Miss Maudie Atkinson's aunt; Cal. was one of the few Negro who had been educated. She used to punish Scout by ordering her to copy the bible. Calpurnia often remind Scout to respect to other people especially their guests, "Yo' folks might be better 'n the Cunninghams but it don't count for nothin' the way you're disgracing 'em." (Lee 4) Treating a lower class individual caustically or cynically does not make any superior from other.

Calpurnia not only taught Scout writing and having good manners, but also acted like a lady. Like Aunt Alexandra, Calpurnia wanted Scout to wear dress, and joined their lady's missionary circle frequently. "Don't you want to grow up to be a lawyer?" Miss Stephanie asked. "Nome, just a lady." said Scout. (Lee 0) When Scout looked at Calpurnia or Alexandra, she sometimes thought being a girl was not so bad.

One other thing Calpurnia taught Jem and Scout was not to treat black people or others differently. Most black and white people do not appreciate each other. They tended to have their own territory. "Lula said, '…they got their church, we got our'n. It is our church, ain't it, Miss Cal?' Calpurnia said, 'It's the same God, ain't it?' Jem understood some of the blacks did not want them there, 'Let's go home, Cal, they don't want us here-'" (Lee 11) Calpurnia tried to explain that if they worshiped the same god then why they would not value the same to each other. Moreover, when Calpurnia conversed with black, she used colored-folks'talk instead of white-folks talk, because she had more education than other Negroes; she did not want to show any disrespect to them. "…folks don't like to have somebody around knowin' more than they do. It aggravates 'em." (Lee16)

In conclusion, The Finch family took Calpurnia as one of their faithful member even if she is black. Also, the children loved her. The family could not have got along nicely without her. "'She tried to bring them up according to her lights, and Cal's light are pretty good-' said Atticus." (Lee 17). Since Calpurnia had taught Jem and Scout so much, they had a better understanding on manner, discrimination, and racism. Therefore, Calpurina had done a really good job raising the children.

I am writing to inform all readers of how appalled I am with Compaq's level of Customer Satisfaction at the corporate level. I bought a custom to order computer from Compaq in the beginning of October 00. The day I received it in the mail I was excited to use my new computer. Minutes after hooking up the computer I began experiencing several problems with my new computer. I experienced several frustrations with the computer. The computer began to freeze up and had to be powered down by a hard shut down. I did a complete system restore but it did not fix the problem. I then got in contact with Compaq Technical Support and began the long process of trouble shooting the problem. After about a week of several hours of being on the phone with Compaq Technical Support, no solution could be given except to take the new computer to an authorized service center. I was very displeased at having to do this because the computer was brand new. Two days after taking the computer into the service center the problem was diagnosed. It was a bad processor and motherboard that was causing part of the problem. Immediately after the problem was diagnosed the parts were ordered for repair. The motherboard arrived within a week of being ordered but the processor never arrived. When it came to the second week of the processor being ordered I called the service center and they attempted to track down the processor. They were given the delivery due date by Compaq and when it came to the date the processor never showed up. Compaq was contacted again about the delivery due date and the stated that there was an error on the tracking of the processor. They then gave another due date but the processor did not arrive on the due date. After my computer was in the shop for three weeks I then attempted to escalate the problem to the corporate level. Compaq customer service representatives did not want to give the corporate number and I had to demand to speak to the floor supervisor. After spend more time explaining my situation to the supervisor she reluctantly gave me the corporate phone number. I left several messages with corporate and never received a reply until about the fifth day of leaving urgent messages. I was contacted by Steve Edwards at corporate and he explained to me that the part had been on back order and that the part would soon be delivered. I asked Steve if I could get a refund on the computer due to the problem with the computer. Steve stated that he could not honor a refund because the computer was purchased a little over thirty days. He did not take into consideration that the computer was taken in for service well before the thirty day refund policy. He stated that he was the highest level that this issue would be handled at and his decision would be for me to wait to get the part. As I asked for a written apology, Steve stated all that he could offer was a verbal apology over the phone. I did ask if the situation could be escalated to a higher department and he said that he was the highest level. The part did come in shortly after the call with Steve at corporate. Even after receiving the computer back from the service center, I still experience problems on a daily bases. The computer continues to lock up and the network card is bad. I have contacted Compaq Technical Support and they advise for the computer to be taken back in for repair. Unfortunately, I have no other choice than to take the computer back in for service. But how long will it take this time. I want all people who read this to understand the frustration and hours lost due to lack of Compaq care for the situation. I would not even recommend anyone to buy a Compaq computer. The number for Steve Edwards at Compaq Corporate Offices is 780-485-180. If anyone would like to speak to me about this, please feel free to contact me at

Children are born with a pre- destined template that determine their individual and unique characteristics. Although we are all different, we share similar qualities. Society welcomes people who are kind, honest and genuine. A parent's goal is to raise a child that is accepted by society. As children grow parents continually teach their children to do the right thing and be kind to others in order to be well equipped for the adult world. Additionally, a parent will attempt to suppress a child's dark side by punishing them when they misbehave. In William Golding's, Lord of the Flies, we are shown the dark, evil nature of man through a group of young British boys.

Children are born unable to determine the difference in right and wrong. Parents are constantly instructing their young to do the right thing through modeling behavior, school, church and movies. When a child doesn't share one's toys, the parent will intervene and encourage the child to make the right choice. If children were left alone to make right descisions, there would be bedlam among our youth that would eventually lead to a society filled with chaos. The idea of training a child to do what is morally acceptable prepares them to be welcomed by the adult world.

Romans 714-5 says, "I don't understand myself at all, for I really want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do the very thing I hate. I know perfectly well that what I am doing and my bad conscience shows that I agree that the law is good. But I can't help myself, because it is sin inside me that makes me do these evil things." An adult with an understanding of right and wrong continually commits evil acts. Priests who are supposed to be model citizens, are committing acts of child molestation. The same people that are training and teaching children to be kind are committing evil acts. Think before you act is a common saying among society. If humans were born good instead of evil, we would not have to think before we acted. Sometimes, when we are extremely mad, we react in outrageous ways. This is when our savage side comes forth. The reason for this is that man is born evil and until the end of our lifetime we will have an inner struggle to make right choices.

Children of neglectful parents are often victims of negative stereotypes. Many times it is the children without proper supervision or disciplinary restraints that are getting into trouble. Children of absentee parents are not instructed and shown through example how to behave. They have not been disciplined when needed and therefore do not know the proper ways of succeeding. It is almost impossible to blame the kids for their behavior because they have not been taught. The Bible says, " My child, don't ignore it when the Lord disciplines you, and don't be discouraged when he corrects you. For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes those he accepts as his children." Cheap Custom Essays on Covering up our true selves

It is a daily struggle to suppress our evil nature. The human race will continually cheat in order to win, lie in order to escape blame and steal in order to gain riches because those are our basic instincts. Most of society agrees that lying, cheating and stealing is wrong, but we rationalize our behavior to get ahead.

The term euthanasia is the Greek word for "easy death". It is one of the most public policy issues being debated about today. Formally called "mercy killing", euthanasia is the act of purposely making or helping someone die, instead of letting nature take its course. Euthanasia can be split into three types; it can be voluntary, positive or passive. Voluntary is when there is a request by the dying patient or their legal representative. Passive involves, doing nothing to prevent death and just allowing someone to die whereas positive is taking deliberate action to cause death. At the moment euthanasia is illegal throughout the world apart from in the state of Oregon, where there is a law specifically allowing doctors to prescribe lethal drugs for the purpose of euthanasia. Also in the Netherlands it is practiced widely, although in fact it remains illegal. The issue of euthanasia is very debatable and many people have their own views for and against the issue.

The main view of those who are for euthanasia is that everyone has the right to choose how they live, and how they die. They believe everyone deserves respect, freedom and the power to control their own destiny. Not everyone will have an easy death. Some terminal pain cannot be controlled, even with the best of care and the strongest of drugs. Some people may suffer from distressing symptoms, which comes with disease, such as; sickness, no mobility, incontinence, breathlessness and fever that cannot always be relieved. However those for euthanasia do not think pain is always the issue they believe quality of life is too. Most people would want to die with dignity, but some people may spend the last moments of their life, in a way which to them is undignified. Having the right of control over their own life and death helps people keep human dignity in the face of their suffering, and this is why those pro- euthanasia feel that it is right. Those for euthanasia have a strong view that people should not be left lingering in pain when death is inevitable. Those in opposition of this view would however say euthanasia is suicide, that it is tragic and an individual act. However believers of euthanasia do not see it as suicide, and would say it is not a private act. In many cases where euthanasia is involved you have the support of family and friends. One case that would show this is Diane Pretty's story. Diane had motor neuron disease and was paralyzed from the neck down. She wanted her husband Brian to assist her in her own death. However in Britain it would be illegal to attempt to help her end her life, and Brian could face upto fourteen years in jail for doing so. Those for euthanasia can show from this case that euthanasia is about letting a person assist another's death to save them from a long painful death, which is what Brian Pretty wanted .

This is not the only argument people have for the use of euthanasia however. Another argument is the cost that an illness such as P.V.S (persistent vegetative state) has on the health service, as well as the emotional cost to the individual and their family. Obviously, the pain of loosing a close relative or loved one is indescribable, but the person is gone and people come to terms with it.Often a larger trauma causing more grief, is having to watch that person suffer while you look on helplessly, and there is no chance of there condition improving. When that person does finally die their relatives good memories may be overrun by the thoughts of that persons last few days of suffering. Those who suffer from P.V.S can cost in America as much as $7 billion annually. Most people who agree with euthanasia believe this is to high a price to pay for a life of someone that is inevitably going to die anyway and not be able to fulfill a full life in the physical state they are in .The feeling is that people who suffer from an illness such as p.v.s, should be allowed to have their legal representative or close relative choose to let them die in dignity .On the other hand though , not everyone would agree with this argument.

Many people against euthanasia argue that a person who is diagnosed as terminally ill might have a miraculous recovery, it has happened in the past. One story I found which would prove this point is the story of someone who was paralyzed from the head down for over 4 years from the result of a car crash. He suffered a broken a neck and spinal cord injury. When he regained consciousness three days after the accident, he was in hospital paralyzed from the neck down .He had a collapsed left lung and crushed left collarbone. The doctor told him that he wasn't supposed to have lived as long as he had and would most likely die shortly. Never the less this same man managed to make it into rehab where he was then told his best hope was 15 more years paralyzed, confined to his weelchair. He surprised all the doctors by going on to live semi-independently for years, he graduated from university and became a journalist. He states that during rehab he felt as if he couldn't go on and if euthanasia was possible he would have probably ended his life, but now from the amazing recovery he has had he has gone on to have a full and prosperous life. People against euthanasia feel if it was legalized then many mistakes would be made, as some people do recover from what was thought to be a terminal disease, even when doctors least expect ,just like in this case.

Another point consistently raised in this debate is that when a sick or elderly patient asks for euthanasia, it can sometimes be caused by emotional and physiological pressures. How can someone be sure it is what they really want and not just because they feel a burden on their families? A lot of people believe that if voluntary euthanasia was legalized, society would soon allow involuntary euthanasia. This is based on the idea that if we change the law to allow a person to help someone die we would not be able to control it. They believe if there were to be a law like this, there would have to be very strict rules, which involved the patient having knowledge of the whole process. A great effort would have to go into making sure the patient is not forced into it and also that they are mentally able to make the decision, which would be hard in cases of some elderly who may be suffering from mental disease.

Should we allow people the choice to live or die? The debate about euthanasia comes up all the time, even when it is not publicized it is still happening. As an issue euthanasia refuses to die. Everyone has their own opinion on it, with many people wanting to see a change in the law. People may agree or disagree but in my opinion, who can really know what they feel about the issue until they are actually in that situation. At the moment I believe that if I was faced with a terminally ill relative who was in a great deal of pain and wanted to die, I would not want to see them suffer. This is only what I think now, perhaps I would hold a different view if I was actually in that situation. This issue needs a lot of thought. The time will inevitably come when the government and the medical services will have to open their eyes to euthanasia, and there will be a lot of debate on the subject. Until then however the euthanasia debate will like a terminal disease, continue to linger.
