One of the most compelling painters of the post war era Sigmar Polke is still an important politically edged artist today. Often the first type of gun a child will be given to handle will be an air gun that shoots pellets just like those shown in the picture. As such does the title of this work give us an insight into how Polke views this scenario? That these pellets are the stating point for a life long obsession with guns and violence? The way in which the pellets are displayed in a small tray like container and combined with the printing method of the images makes them appear almost like seeds. This is strange element in the most immediate sense in that seeds are organic and represent the start of life where as bullets and guns immediately bring up thought and images of death. However these smaller field pellets are like seeds, seeds that grow into something bigger and more dangerous. They are the seeds that plant the thoughts of finding fun in violence. For a child starting with these and shooting at small animals gives them the taste for blood and enjoyment in killing.

The title of this work also gives us example of his sense of humour. The irony in the title as the word "grave" implies death and the ammunition would not be suitable for killing but it is where the interest could lead. It is also a very light hearted and playful title for an issue that he approaches with extreme seriousness.

Many of these topics are also displayed in the piece "I don't really think about anything too much" where the gentleman in the piece is posing next to a field target, assumed to be his, looking very happy and satisfied. HARDEST CLASS

These articles had to go along with what we were learning that week. We had to go in front of the class and expound it to everyone. Then she gave us a paper that noted all of the information that had to be on the video. I remember looking at the paper and my jaw dropped right away. There was so much information needed for this video. I knew that if we didn't have every little bit then we would be marked down a lot. So our group used the whole weeks we had and made it as good as we could. We ended up getting a c- on it.

The (extraxt) is mainly dialogue with some descriptive writing. It all starts out when Carly calls Josie a wog and basically tells her that she's a bastard. Josie doesn't like hearing it from a non-wog so; she hits Carly with her science textbook and breaks her nose. Carly's dad (Ron Bishop) threatens to sue Josie, and warns her that she better call her lawyer. Then to everyone's surprise Josie announces to Carly, Ron and sister Lousies that her fathers a barrister. In this scene the choice of adjectives indicate a scene of high tension; for example adjectives used are- clenched, passionate, desperate, violent and horrified. Whether or not her father will turn up. Josie had fixed views on this as she thought this- "I new Michael Andretti would never come to my rescue, but I prayed all the same". Finally a man with a suit and looking very sophisticated walks in. With great astonishment on his face Ron Bishop proceeds to tell Michael Andretti "your daughter has broken my daughters nose". With not acknowledging Ron bishop as "Famous" Michael makes a great comeback and says, " my daughter has inherited her fathers quick temper" then Josie has a quick word to Michael and tells him what happened. Michael's first reaction was "what the hell is going on?" Josie explained and pleaded for Michael to get her out of this. "Michaels mouth was tight with anger" Josie felt embarrassed about telling Michael what carly had really called her, so when Michael asked her what did she do to deserve a broken nose? Josie refused to tell him and said "nothing". This made Michael frustrated with Josie and said "oh great. I have to get you out of this mess after you hit a girl for nothing". What is significance of these words to those in the room and especially to Jose? Then Michael Andretti has a private word to Ron who he thinks is a creep, after 5 minutes they both came out. Ron bishop looking as red as a tomato orders Carly to get her things. Sister Louise was very pleased that there was no suing involved and she said she was very pleased to meet Mr. Andretti and helped Josie through the tough time. Michael Andretti looking very impressed with himself, smiles at Josie and walks out the main corridor, while everyone is watching Josie asked Michael "how was your day at court dad?" Although this is a scene of growing frustration for Michael he ends up convincing Ron to drop the charges.

In conclusion to this speech I thoroughly recommend this book to all teenagers, whilst Josie learned to deal with other people calling her a wog she prepared an answer that would leave them for dead and not ask again.

It continues from the first part, The Fellowship of the Ring, and ends in the final part, Return of the King. He portrays the human heart and how different it can be from person to person quite well, at least I thought so.
