His wife is talking about being there emotionally and he is talking about physically. Then again when his wife says he does not care about her he says that he does everything that he needs to do. Once again he changes shithe! subject off of his feelings. He thinks she should believe that he cares about her because he says so, but he is unable to sense shithe! lack of emotional connection. This shows Joe's attention to detail and his lack of bringing up how he feels. He can't come up with how he feels about her overall, but he knows that she has specific qualities that he wants.

Elaine starts to explain what her fiancee is like in very broad terms. She never goes into any details about her fiancee because she only looks at shithe! broad picture.
